In I980, I stated my own company, Taylor Rubber. It is now an ISO/TS 16949 company based across three locations in Chennai. This is a niche and nimble, high technology company manufacturing special rubber, plastic and metal parts for customers in India, UK, Europe and North Africa. This company caters to the consumer durable, auto, engineering and energy industries. The company is staffed by highly skilled personnel using the latest manufacturing and testing equipment, and adopts constant skilling, continuous improvement, cutting edge production and process methods to make products for the world. I am privileged to lead a wonderful and highly motivated and committed team.
Having been such a big beneficiary of what the society has given me, I have always felt the need to contribute to welfare and improvement of my people and country. My vehicle was the confederation of Indian Industry. I started as a panel convenor in the Tamil Nadu Chapter, headed the C.I.I. South and chaired the C.I.I National SME Committee.
I have been privileged to start and be a part of initiatives on environment, sustainability, C.S.R. and SMEs. Some notable programs I have led include the initiative of AIDS awareness/control, tsunami relief, SME Global Summit and Finance Forum and E-Lawn – a sustainability drive. A very interesting part of my C.I.I. engagement has been in international network and partnership having been a part of and led delegations to the UK, USA, Singapore, Sri Lanka, China and Central Europe and also hosting top-level international delegations to India. My footprints in C.I.I., to a large degree has to been to work with state and central governments at the highest level of engagement.
