Divine Chocolate

As the only Fairtrade chocolate company owned by cocoa farmers in Ghana, Divine Chocolate is a successful and independent premium chocolate brand available around the world, offering a diverse range of flavours, gifts and seasonal specialities in bespoke packaging.

Divine operates on a truly innovative business model, putting people first and proving fairer trade is commercially viable on a large scale. The farmers of the Kuapa Kokoo co-operative who supply Divine’s cocoa, benefit from four income streams, including a significant share of Divine’s profits as well as a real voice in the chocolate industry.

In the UK, Divine sells directly to major supermarkets and to NGO’s such as Oxfam and Traidcraft. The company’s broad customer base also includes wholesalers who supply convenience, whole foods, hospitality and public sector markets. The business’s potential market covers all buyers of premium chocolate, both in the UK, USA and Canada, but also increasingly around the world where British excellence is valued.  Divine is encountering growing interest from overseas in both premium chocolate, but also in Fairtrade, and other products with sustainable credentials.

Commonwealth First will work with Divine to help grow the brand internationally and realise its export goals across the Commonwealth.
