|Tregothnan is a family business formed in 1334. Tregothnan tea is sold to most Commonwealth countries; Singapore, China, Taiwan, America and many more.
In 2005 Tregothnan sold the first-ever tea grown in the UK, the culmination of over two centuries of experimenting with the tea genus with the help of its subtropical microclimate. Within this unique environment, Tregothnan makes a range of premium black, green and herbal teas. Fresh leaves are plucked from our Cornish plantations by the Estate’s garden team and processed on site using traditional methods.
In addition, the company has the advantage of being able to invite its customers – some of the country’s finest hotels and restaurants - to visit the Estate and participate in an immersive tea experience. Guests can pluck fresh tea from the Tregothnan tea gardens and participate in on-site training sessions in its ultra-modern tea bar.
The company has recently undergone an exciting rebranding process and enhanced packaging to help convey the quality and Britishness of its products to the overseas market. Tregothnan has ambitious plans to increase its export business to 80% by 2020. With already strong links to many Commonwealth countries, Tregothnan is looking to further grow these links to achieve its goals.
Commonwealth First will work with Tregothnan to help it expand across the Commonwealth, which has a rich history in tea, helping enhance the Great British presence in this market.
